The primary reason I like this better than an electric heating pad is the weight of the beads holds it in place with even, total contact.I also like to put this under the covers at my feet at bedtime, warms my feet just enough without over heating the entire bed like an electric blanket.Do keep your microwave clean so the pack won't get stained or absorb food odors.My usual brand has been out of stock so i picked these up instead. They off gas this smell which makes me worry what chemicals i am being exposed to. They also do not hold the warmth for as long as my other brand. I wish i did not buy these.Just what I needed to relieve my chronic stiff neck.I recently ordered my second MediBeads Neck Wrap. The first one lasted several years and only needed to be replaced because one of the ties finally wore out and came off. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because the heat begins to dissipate after about 10 minutes. However, it's still the best one I've tried. I have almost constant neck pain and need to apply wet heat once or twice daily. The shape is perfect, as the back of the wrap covers my upper and lower neck.This is the best one I have found. Gel packs can distort over time, get hot spots.... This one is for your neck, but living tin the cold New england region I am often freezing, so I heat it and tie it around my waist to provide heat on the small of my back/low back as well, which keeps me warm and addresses my low back injury pain as well as the neck injuries. It hearts in 2 mins in the microwave. One cannot leave them in the microwave for 10 mins, as happened with a friend's broken microwave, that is for sure. But even the one I burnt up was 11 years old, and I use it daily, often 10 times a day for the long winter season. It has stood the test of time.I have the medibeads small hand wrap and love it and thought this would be similar except for the neck. IT IS NOT. It is very heavy and the fabric is rough. I have been in terrible pain and didn't think to confirm if it was returnable since I didn't foresee a problem as it was another medibeads product that looked the same, green and white, on the site.. Now I find it is not eligible for return. Bad news.Easy to use, highly effective, and in my opinion superior to any similar product because it supplies moist heat. Do note that you should not store them in a sealed container. They need to absorb moisture from the atmosphere when not in use. The heat does not last as long as with clay products, but it seems more effective to me. The other thing I love about this particular one is that it fits the neck and adjacent spine so well, getting the heat where it's needed.I have not tried them for cold applications, so cannot report on that use.In generL, I like the MediBeads products. In recent years, the cover has changed from a soft and drapey terry cloth to a stiff and scratchy fabric covering. On this particular product, you need the wrap to mold to the shape of your neck and the fabric will be in direct contact with your skin. The stiffness of the fabric makes it difficult to mold to the curves of your neck. Also, the tie is awkward. Ma Velcro closure would be adjustable for different neck widths. I have a thin neck and even when tied as tight as possible, the wrap is significantly too loose. Velcro would allow an adjustable fit.I have been a die-hard fan of Medibeads for years! There are no heating pads that can compare to this product line. I use the neck one and 2 back ones 4x days for a chronic pain problem and nothing compares to it. The wet heat feeling goes through to your bones! (the pads are not wet). Easily microwaveable and holds the heat for about 20 minutes. Highly recommend.I am very disappointed that this product did not even last for one year! I bought it last april and i use if very infrequently and today when i wanted to use it and placed it for heating this happened!Same microwave same setting and same temp as recommendedIt provides a relaxing heat therapy, and has been by far the best product I have tried使用感いいですね。一日一回首を温めています。楽になった感じがします。冷めるのが少し早いかな？満足です。
