Perfect for my Maltese who would not listen to us no matter how many times we told him not to jump on the ottoman. His joints are too weak for the pounding they take when he jumps off so I started looking for something to help him step up. I wasn't sure if the rounded steps would work but seeing how easily the dog runs up it I now appreciate the design. It's really quite clever, I wouldn't have thought to round off the edges of a step but it's actually better. The microfiber fabric should be easy to clean so I like that option. Color is really nice, goes well with the neutral tones in my living room and doesn't look cheap or junky like the plastic ones I've seen in stores. The other thing I like about this is that it's not collapsible so no worry about it buckling under. Light enough to push aside when we want it out of the way yet strong enough that the dog doesn't sink into it. Granted he's only 7pounds but it does seem to be well made with quality foam. I leave it in front of an ottoman so the dog can march up the ramp and curl up on the ottoman while my husband is sitting on the chair. It also can be used for the sofa but not tall enough for the (sleigh) bed so it stays in the living room.UPDATE 5 YEARS LATER.... Dogs still using it! Has held up so well it could pass as new. I'm more impressed than ever now that I look back at my review, has it really been 5 years?! This thing will outlast the dog it might even outlast me!
