I ordered this because I cook for one often, and as such, I often have leftovers to reheat in the toaster oven. I was using a lot of aluminum foil sheets as lids, and was worried about toxins in my food, especially if tomato sauce was involved. No longer an issue.This item is perfectly sized for one portion, is oven-proof for reheating, dishwasher safe, and can even go from fridge to oven, although they recommend against temperature shocks. I thought it might have been hard to lift the lid with oven mitts on, until I realized it is perfectly round where the lid meets the body. So you can rotate the lid 90 degrees, and the "wings" stick out perfectly for lifting. The European borosilicate glass is lab grade, and it feels really solid; the lid stays on well due to its weight alone. I'm very happy with my purchase, and will definitely buy it again so I can have one to use while the other waits to be washed.
